Student Life

A garden to grow: nurture with nature.

A home that nurtures. A campus that empowers.

Where every moment builds discipline and independence.

Boarding houses

The boarding houses are a home away from home.

They are a space for community building and shared brotherhood where we foster self-resilience, time management and a sense of independence under the supervision of residential staff, wardens and house mothers or dorm parents.

A well-planned schedule for self-study hours, leisure, sports, movie time on weekends and lights-out routines keeps the children clocking into a cycle that balances fun and academics.

Yes, feeling homesick comes naturally, but the school continues to provide support and activities to help a child warm up to his new home and buddies coming from different backgrounds.

The fresh mountain air and the green drapery of trees provide not just a perfect environment for studies, but a place to learn respect in a shared space while forming memorable bonds for life.

Trips and celebrations

Boarding life does not stop at the gate.

Through the year the school takes students out together: a film in town, a day trip, a visit that turns a weekend into something the boys talk about for weeks. Going out as a house, in uniform, with teachers along, is part of how they learn to carry themselves in public.

On campus, festivals are marked properly. Birthdays are celebrated in the dining room with teachers and friends, and the kitchen prepares special meals for Diwali, Holi and the other days that matter at home.

Meals

The school offers nutritious, fully vegetarian meals and continues to meet students' dietary needs as and when they arise. Students not only enjoy meals but also celebrate birthdays together with their teachers in the dining room. DIRS has a unique tradition of making the birthdays of its staff and students memorable for everyone.

Diet requirements are closely monitored when doctors give specific instructions. The school also takes care of special meals for festivals, or when students observe religious practices such as fasting.

Phone call timings

Sunday at DIRS is reserved for all students to make their weekly calls to their parents. The school administration shares each ward's calling time and slot in advance, so communication between the child and his parents is hassle-free.

Students may also make special calls on their birthdays and for other celebrations at home, with permission.
